The fundamental principle of FLOMO is to create eco-friendly, non-toxic, and low-emission products.
The “2030 Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs) were announced by the UN in 2015, and other nations have also put out the “2050 Net Zero Emissions” proclamation and action. 2050 Net Zero Transformation is the objective of both the world and Taiwan, announced by President Tsai Ing-wen of the Taiwanese government in 2021. As the leading stationery company in Taiwan, FLOMO already started R&D in PVC Free, Non-toxic Eco erasers in 2001. As part of its commitment to lowering carbon emissions, FLOMO was the first eraser supplier getting the carbon footprint label as early as 2018. Our vision is to safeguard the next generation.
Mr.FLOMO Shen has a flourishing career and has spent more than 30 years working in charities. Tens of millions of NTD dollars have been given in scholarships to elementary and middle school kids from low-income households since he established the organization, Tainan Shen-Huang Zi-Xiou Social Welfare Charitable Foundation, in his mother’s honor in 1997. After doing this for many years, he realized that “The scholarships cannot have a solid impact on those children’s future, as poverty will be passed down from generation to generation. Education is the only way out of poverty.”
Mr. Shen once encountered difficulties in starting up a company because he wasn’t fluent in English. Therefore, he established FLOMO Education Foundation in 2004, aiming to help the underprivileged, promote education, and preserve the environment. The Foundation not only provides nearly 200 square meters of English classroom space, but it also collaborates with more than 50 elementary schools in Tainan and Kaohsiung in a free English after-class tutor program, called FLOMO Academy. In the program, English teachers were assigned to teach at the elementary schools in each district, using an engaging and varied English curriculum to cultivate students’ ability to compete globally. The aim of the Academy was to offer various interesting English sessions to underprivileged students.
In addition, the FLOMO Education Foundation also firstly supports Tainan City Government to promote Taiwan’s Bilingual 2030 Plan by assisting underprivileged children’s basic English skills so that they can at least have an equal start like others. As a result of the COVID-19, in-person lessons have been replaced with online ones in recent years. Besides the original English learning online courses and bilingual character education classes, the Foundation also offers programming programs, online video editing classes, bilingual creative aesthetics classes, and classes on learning English by listening to world-famous music. The aim is to provide comprehensive skill learning for the next generation.
